History of Kishu Nell
About 250 years ago, during the Meiwa period (1764-1772), Kishu prospered as a producer of Monba, a fabric used for winter protection. The soft, warm, thick cotton cloth raised with pine needles was very useful in those days. With the gradual spread of European culture, Kishu developed a lighter, more modern fabric using the traditional techniques of monuwa. This is believed to be the beginning of "Kishu Nell".
It is characterized by its excellent ability to retain moisture and heat.
